ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — The St. John’s Edge defeated the Island Storm 101-95 Saturday in National Basketball League of Canada action in the Newfoundland and Labrador capital.

The teams play again today at 2:30 p.m. Atlantic.

The Storm led 30-18 after the first quarter but trailed 51-50 at the half. The visitors responded to take a 79-71 lead to the fourth but couldn’t hold it.

Ryan Richardson and Montay Brandon led the Edge with 17 points while Brandon hauled in 15 rebounds. Coron Williams and Cane Broome each chipped in 16 points.

Robbie Robinson led the Storm with 23 points and 10 rebounds while Nathaniel Wright chipped in 20 points off the bench. Johnathan Loyd and Alex Campbell each scored 19 points while Antwon Lillard had 10 rebounds.

St. John’s improved to 10-7 while the Storm dropped its third straight game to fall to 6-13.
