ROUYN-NORANDA, Que. — Xavier Fortin and Brett Budgell scored a minute apart in the third period to give the Charlottetown Islanders a 4-3 road win Saturday over the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.

William Trudeau and Nikita Alexandrov, on the power play, also scored for the Islanders in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Noah Laaouan, Oscar Plandowski, Kevin Gursoy, Thomas Casey, Zac Beauregard and Fortin each had an assist.

Alex Beaucage had a goal and an assist to pace the defending Memorial Cup champion Huskies. Vincent Marleau and Tyler Hinam also scored.

Matthew Welsh made 22 stops for the victory while Kevyn Brassard stopped 25 shots in the loss.

The Islanders improved to 10-2-3-0 while the Huskies fall to 8-7-0-1. Charlottetown completes its three-game road trip Sunday at 4 p.m. in Val-d’Or, Que., against the 7-5-2-0 Foreurs.
