O'LEARY, P.E.I. — Forward Ethan Dickson made Prince County Warriors’ history Friday night.
Dickson, who scored a hat trick and added an assist in a 7-5 win over the Mid-Isle Matrix, became the all-time leading scorer in the history of the O’Leary-based franchise.
Dickson has now scored 52 goals as a Warrior in the P.E.I. Major Under-15 AAA Hockey League. Bennett MacArthur, a forward with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, held the previous record of 49.
Carson Griffin (2-3), Lincoln Waugh (1-4) and Travis Wedge also scored for the Warriors, who improved to 12-5-0 (won-lost-overtime losses).
Michael Arsenault (1-1), Noah Wolfe (1-1), Mitchell Ford, Luke Enman and Rowan Tremere answered for the Crapaud-based Matrix (4-13-0). Lucas Thibeau and John Beaton each added two assists.
Cole Echlin stopped 26 of 31 shots to earn the goaltending win. Landon MacKinnon faced 63 shots in the Matrix goal.
