CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Charlottetown Islanders right-winger Cole Edwards will sit the next two games.
The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League suspended the 19-year-old Kingston, Ont., native for a check to the head in Sunday’s game against the Moncton Wildcats. He received a five-minute major and a game misconduct for the hit with 6:04 left in the second period.
The Islanders host the Shawinigan Cataractes Thursday at 7 p.m. before visiting the Wildcats Saturday at 4 p.m. Edwards will be eligible to return to the line-up Tuesday in Halifax.
