Charlottetown Islanders winger Cédric Desruisseaux is the Ultramar Quebec Major Junior Hockey League player of the week.
The 20-year-old Victoriaville, Que., native had six goals and six assists as the Isles went 3-0-0-0 during a three-game homestand.
He had three goals and two assists Wednesday against Halifax, a goal and two assists on Friday against Halifax and capped off the weekend Saturday by tallying two goals and two assists against Cape Breton.
The overage forward has 28 goals and 21 assists for 49 points in 24 regular season games. His previous career high was 24 goals and 46 points in 2017-18 with the Drummondville Voltigeurs while his most assists (26) occurred last season with the Isles. Despite this season's strong numbers, this is the first time he's been named player of the week.
