BATHURST, N.B. — The Northern Moose scored four second-period goals to defeat the Charlottetown Bulk Carriers Knights 5-2 Sunday in New Brunswick/Prince Edward Island Major Midget Hockey League action.

The game was scoreless through the first 29:40 before Simon Olivier Savoie scored for the Moose in Bathurst, N.B. The host squad scored two more in the next 2:09 to take a 3-0 lead and it added a power-play goal at 16:56 to take a 4-0 lead to the third.

Marshall Gallant and Colby Huggan scored in the third for the Knights with Jude Campbell drawing the lone helper.

Jordan Joseph, Gavin Caissie, Jesse Chamberlain and Jacob Duguay scored in the win.

Pierre-Vincent Guignard stopped 22 shots for the win while Jack Howatt stopped 37 shots in the loss.

The Moose improved to 7-6-1-0 and sits three points up on the Knights (5-9-2-0) with two games in hand for fourth place in the five-team league.

The teams will play in the Monctonian this week in the Hub City.
