Charlottetown gets lopsided win in final major under-18 hockey regular season game with Kensington

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. —

The line of captain Max Chisholm with associate captains Colby Huggan and Cameron MacLean combined for nine points Friday as the Charlottetown Bulk Carriers Knights blasted the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild 10-1.

It was the last meeting of the New Brunswick/Prince Edward Island Major Under-18 Hockey League regular season for the provincial rivals.

Chisholm had two goals and an assist while his linemates each had a goal and two helpers at MacLauchlan Arena.

Caleb MacDonald, Jonah Jelley, Jude Campbell and Connor Keough each had a goal and an assist. Nolan Stewart and Jesse Blanchard also scored in the win.

Will Morrison had three assists while Harry Clements and Isaac Vos each had two and singles were credited to Landon MacDonald, Wil White, Luke Coughlin and Cole McKeigan.

Max Sentner from Bates Ling and Kieran Rennie replied with a power-play goal for the Wild.

Aiden Williams stopped 23 shots for the win. Kiefer Thompson allowed nine goals on 56 shots in 52 minutes before being replaced by Josh Smith, who stopped four of five shots in relief.

The game was tied 1-1 after the first period while Charlottetown held a 5-1 lead heading to the third. Kensington took 18 penalties for 85 minutes while Charlottetown was penalized 14 times for 53 minutes. Charlottetown scored four times with the man advantage.

Charlottetown improved to 8-0-0 while Kensington is 1-7-1. The teams have played six times.

The Knights will play the Mount Academy Saints under-17 team Friday at 7:45 p.m. at MacLauchlan Arena.
