SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Rookie Bennett MacArthur recorded his second hat trick of the season Saturday night as the Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals defeated the Campbellton Tigers 7-4 in Maritime Junior Hockey League action.

The Summerside native now has 15 goals and 27 points in 18 games while the Caps have won seven straight games.

Kallum Muirhead had two goals and an assist while Marc-Andre LeCouffe had a goal and two assists and Colby MacArthur had three helpers. Captain Brodie MacArthur had a goal and an assist while Theo Citrullo, Brodie MacMillan, Zach Biggar, Jacob Arsenault, Cam Roberts and Ed McNeill each chipped in a helper.

William Basque and Charles-William Gage each had a goal and an assist to lead the Tigers while Elliott Parker and Kyle Petten rounded out the scoring.

Dominik Tmej made 29 saves for the win while Tristan Gray stopped 32 shots in the loss as Summerside held 2-0 and 5-2 period leads.

The Capitals improved to 15-3-0-0 while the Tigers are 8-7-1-0. Summerside hosts the Miramichi Timberwolves (4-11-3-0) Thursday at 7 p.m.
