CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Connor Jones recorded a hat trick Monday to lead the Sherwood Metros over the Summerside Cover All Construction Crunch 7-4 in Razzy’s Prince Edward Island Junior C Hockey League action.

Ethan Larocque had two goals and two assists while Kyle Kennedy had four helpers.

Nick Brown and Marc Cummiskey also scored in the victory at Cody Banks Arena. Patrick Kenny, Sammy Docherty and Hunter Boudreau each had two assists.

Dylan Mugridge, Parker Cameron, Ean Killam and Aaron Feehan scored for Sherwood. Bret Cheverie had two assists while Thomas Ford, Remi Arsenault and Giles McInnis each had one.

Keenan Hayden stopped 16 shots for the victory while Devon Newberry made 41 saves in the loss.

The game was scoreless after the first period while Sherwood took a 5-2 lead to the third.

Sherwood improved to 6-14-0 and sits six points ahead of Summerside (3-16-0) for fourth place in the five-team league.
