CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Hunter Drew scored three minutes into overtime as the Charlottetown Islanders defeated the Acadie-Bathurst Titan 3-2 Wednesday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Mark Grametbauer stopped 47 shots in the loss to his former team at Eastlink Centre while his former teammate, Matthew Welsh, stopped 15 shots in the win.

Kevin Gursoy and Drew Johnston gave the Islanders a 2-0 lead six minutes into the second period, but Jesse Sutton and Liam Leonard scored for Acadie-Bathurst to force overtime.

Daniel Hardie had two assists for the Islanders while singles went to Drew, Liam Peyton and Noah Laaouan.

Leonard, Ian Smallwood and Mathieu Desgagnes had helpers for the Titan.

The Islanders, who held 1-0 and 2-1 period leads, went 1-for-3 on the power play while the Titan was 0-for-3.

Charlottetown improved to 39-20-4-3 while Acadie-Bathurst is a league-worst 8-52-5-1.

The Islanders host the Moncton Wildcats Friday at 7:30 p.m. before travelling to Halifax to play the Mooseheads Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in the regular season finale.
