MONCTON, N.B. – Cole Butcher of Porter’s Lake, N.S., picked up his third win of season at the Irving Blending and Packaging 150 at Petty International Raceway on Saturday night.
Butcher, the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour’s current points leader, battled Darren MacKinnon of Charlottetown for most of the 150 laps, before a late-race caution took out several of the top contenders. Dylan Gosbee of Cornwall stayed out of the fray and came home second, just ahead of Craig Slaunwhite of Terence Bay, N.S., who completed the podium.
Kent Vincent of Crapaud had a great run and finished fourth, and Shawn Turple of Enfield, N.S., rounded out the top five.
Heat races
Three Atlantic Tiltload heat races determined the starting order for the Irving Blending and Packaging 150. Turple, Braden Langille of Shubenacadie, N.S., and Slaunwhite were first under the checkers in their respective qualifiers. Langille was the Exide Batteries rookie of the race for the second week in a row, and Terry Dougay of Albany took home the King Freight future winners award.
The Leisure Days RV Bandoleros, A.E. MacKay Builders Late Models and Maritime League of Legends put on some great racing for the capacity crowd prior to the Irving Blending and Packaging 150. Sam Rogers of Lower Onslow, N.S., won the 20-lap Bandolero feature, Brady Creamer of Miramichi, N.B., was on top of the podium in the 50-lap Late Model race and Craig MacDonald of Waverly, N.S., took the victory for the Maritime League of Legends.

The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour takes this coming weekend off, but will make its second stop to picturesque Prince Edward Island on Saturday, Aug. 4, for the Lucas Oil 150 at Oyster Bed Bridge Speedway. Tickets will be available to purchase at the gate on race day.
