CORNWALL, P.E.I. — Team White beat Team Black 5-2 in the Charlottetown Islanders’ first intrasquad game of training camp Saturday morning at the APM Centre in Cornwall.
Ben Boyd, Luke Akerman, Oscar Plandowski, Landon Clow and Daniel Kline (empty net) scored in the win. Samuel Chabot and Anthony Hamel replied with goals for Black.
Isaak Pelletier and Chad Arsenault each played half a game in White’s crease while Jacob Goobie and Nolan Boyd split time for Black.
The teams will be back on the ice at 7 p.m. Saturday night for Game 2.
The Islanders head to Quispamsis, N.B., Sunday to play the Saint John Sea Dogs at 3 p.m. in the teams’ first exhibition game of the pre-season.
