ABRAM-VILLAGE, P.E.I. — A balanced attack was the story for the Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings on Sunday afternoon.
Eight different players scored goals, and 12 players registered at least a point, in the Red Wings’ 8-1 victory over the Eastern Maniacs at the Evangeline Recreation Centre.
The win gives the Red Wings a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven Island Junior Hockey League semifinal series. Since the Red Wings opened the series with a 7-2 road win Friday night, first-place Western will also host Game 3 on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Silas Handrahan (1-2), Isaac Callaghan (1-2), Calvin McRae (1-1), Chandler Wood (1-1), Brydon Smith, affiliated player Thomas Rennie, Isaac Knox and Chasse Gallant lit the lamp for the Red Wings in Game 2. Matt Thompson (2), Evan Millman (2), Alex Morrissey and Connor Morrissey chipped in with assists.
Chris Sear, assisted by Nick Steele and Cameron Nelson, netted the lone Eastern goal.
The Red Wings built period leads of 3-0 and 6-1.
The Red Wings outshot the Maniacs 45-9, including period advantages of 18-4, 15-4 and 12-1. Luke Oliver was the winning goaltender, and Cam Duffy was in goal for the Maniacs.
