CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Bridget Frazee scored 28 points to pace the St. Thomas Tommies to a 76-56 victory over the Holland College Hurricanes Saturday in Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association women’s basketball action.
Lainy Dow added 18 points for the Tommies.
Lexi MacInnis led the Hurricanes with 14 points, nine rebounds. Tekara (Mae) Smith had 10 points off the bench for Holland College. The Hurricanes only has six players to play 18 or more minutes.
Holland College held a 17-16 lead after the first quarter but trailed 33-27 at the half and 47-39 heading to the third.
The Hurricanes turned the ball over 30 times compared to 15 for the Tommies. St. Thomas only hit a third of its 27 free throws while Holland College went 5-for-7 at the free-throw line.
The Tommies improved to 10-3 while the Hurricanes, who have dropped five straight games, are 3-8 and tied with Crandall (3-8) for the final playoff spot.
Holland College and Crandall were to play Sunday in Charlottetown, but the pending storm forced the postponement of the game. A date will be released in the coming days.
