CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Defenceman Madison Clarke scored the game-winning goal Saturday in her final regular season home game for the UPEI Panthers.
Clarke, a Hilden, N.S., native, was honoured with fellow graduating players captain Emma Martin, goalie Megan Sullivan and forward Lindsay Johnston before the contest.
The Panthers defeated the Mount Allison Mounties 4-1.
Shelby Foran, Rachel Colle shorthanded and Sydnee Baker on the power play also scored for the Panthers. Leah Byrne had two assists while singles went to Sophie Vandale, Colle, Baker and Gabrielle Gray.
Jessica Desautels from Charlottetown native Oryssya Ellis replied for the Mounties.
Sullivan made 17 saves for the win while Lindsay Wray stopped 24 shots in the loss.
The game was tied 1-1 after the first while UPEI took a 3-1 lead to the third.
UPEI was 1-for-7 on the power play while killing all five of the Mounties chances with the man advantage.
UPEI improved to 6-10-7 while the Mounties are 3-17-3. The Panthers conclude the regular season Saturday at Dalhousie.
