SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — The Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals have moved up one spot in the latest Canadian Junior Hockey League rankings released Monday.

The Billy McGuigan-coached Capitals are now the fourth-ranked team in the country. This is the highest the Caps have been ranked this season, and team was also previously ranked fourth on Jan. 7.
Summerside, which is 9-0-1 (won-lost-overtime losses) in its last 10 games, sits atop the MHL’s (Maritime Junior Hockey League) overall standings at 28-5-1.
The Capitals, who host the Pictou County Crushers (15-14-6) at Eastlink Arena on Wednesday at 7 p.m., last played on Jan. 19 – a 6-5 shootout loss to the Amherst Ramblers (25-9-2).
The Yarmouth Mariners, who dropped from 13th to 14th this week, are the only other MHL team to crack the top-20 rankings. Amherst received an honourable mention.
The Brooks Bandits remain the No. 1-ranked team in the country. Brooks has won 19 straight victories, and leads the Alberta Junior Hockey League at 43-0-0.
The Thunder Bay North Stars (29-2-2) of the Superior International Junior Hockey League are ranked second, and the Oakville Blades (36-4-4) of the Ontario Junior Hockey League are third. The Portage Terriers (36-8-2) of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League round out the top five.
The CJHL is comprised of 133 teams and 10 junior A leagues across Canada and five communities in the northern United States.
