KENSINGTON – The Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers are hoping some home cooking is what the doctor ordered.
The Vipers, who are mired in a stretch of win one, lose one, will host the Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings in the back end of a Christmas week home-and-home series between the two Island Junior Hockey League arch-rivals. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m.
It will be the beginning of a four-game homestand, and a stretch of five of their next six games at Community Gardens.

Boxing Day
The Red Wings scored seven unanswered goals en route to a 7-1 triumph at the Evangeline Recreation Centre on Boxing Day. The Red Wings have won 10 games in a row and, with just two overtime losses on Nov. 4 and 9, have earned at least a point in their last 12 contests.
The league-leading Red Wings, who are also the defending playoff champions, are 11-5-2 (won-lost-overtime losses). Western is three points up on the second-place Sherwood-Parkdale A&S Scrap Metal Metros (10-7-1), and five up on the third-place Vipers (8-8-3).
The Red Wings have won three of the first four head-to-head meetings against the Vipers.
With the Boxing Day game attracting a big crowd in Abram-Village, another large gathering is expected on Friday.
