KENSINGTON, P.E.I. – The Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers racked up four goals in the final period and thumped the Eastern Maniacs 5-1 Tuesday in Island Junior Hockey League action in Kensington.

Blake Gallant, Garret Murray (his second of the game), C.J. McCardle (1-3) and Johnathan Arsenault (1-2) notched the Vipers goals in the decisive period. Murray also chipped in two assists.

Tyson McInnis, from Chris Sear and Cole Jenkins, netted the Maniacs marker.

Cameron Visser earned the win over Noah Laybolt.

Kensington outshot Eastern 49-25, including 18-5 in the first frame. The game was scoreless after the first period and tied 1-1 at the second intermission.

Neither team had a power-play goal in a combined five chances.

The second-place Vipers improved to 14-7-0 while the last-place Maniacs are 0-18-0 in the four-team circuit.
