The Charlottetown Bulk Carriers Pride completed round-robin play in the Major Midget Division of the 2019 Chronicle Herald East Coast Ice Jam hockey tournament in Bedford, N.S., undefeated at 3-0-0 (won-lost-overtime losses).
The Pride doubled Western Kings 4-2 in their third game on Friday night, and will face Cape Breton West (1-2-0) in a playoff-round game Saturday at 9 a.m. The Pride enters the Round of 16 as the top-seeded team while Cape Breton West is No. 16.
Also on Friday evening, the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild dropped a 2-1 overtime decision to Steele Subaru of Dartmouth, N.S. The Wild (2-0-1) enter the playoffs as the fourth seed, and will take on the 13th-seeded Pictou County (1-2-0) on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
The quarter-finals will be played Saturday night, with the semifinals and final on Sunday.

In major bantam play, the Charlottetown-based Central Attack was the lone P.E.I. team to qualify for the Round of 16. The Attack, who defeated the South Shore Lumberjacks 6-1 on Friday, completed the round robin 2-1-0, and are seeded 12th. They will take on fifth-seeded Cape Breton on Saturday at 3:15 p.m.
The Mid-Isle Matrix won their final game – 4-2 over Western Kings – to finish 1-2-0 while the Eastern Express lost 7-0 to the Joneljim Cougars to complete play 0-3-0.
Pride 4 Kings 2
Captain Nick Reeves was in all on four goals – scoring twice and assisting on two others – to lead the Pride. Ed McNeill (1-1) and Alex Graham also scored while Cameron MacLean (2), Jake Squires, Seth Morris and Hunter Bradley assisted.
Jacob Oake and Brett Urquhart replied for the Kings.
Charlottetown held period leads of 1-0 and 2-0.
Erik MacInnis earned the goaltending win.
Subaru 2 Wild 1 (OT)
Jacob Christie scored 44 seconds into overtime to lift Steele Subaru to the victory.
The teams exchanged first-period goals, with Connor McNamara opening the scoring for Steele Subaru and Bennett MacArthur countering for the Wild. Colby MacArthur and Dixon MacLeod set up MacArthur’s equalizer.
Robbie Forbes was the winning goaltender, and Josh Smith was between the pipes for Kensington.
Attack 6 Lumberjacks 1
Brett Arsenault (2), Landon MacDonald (1-1), Luke Coughlin, Cam Squires and Keegan Callaghan scored for the Attack. Colby Huggan, Isaac Vos, Max Sentner, Tyler Worth, Jamie Collins and Kal White added helpers.
MacKenzie Connors answered for the Lumberjacks.
The Attack built period advantages of 1-0 and 4-2.
Winning goaltender was Jack Howatt.
Matrix 4 Kings 2
Mid-Isle would not look back after building period leads of 2-0 and 3-1.
Liam Wood (1-2), Carson MacDougall (1-1), Sarah MacEachern and Brennan Murphy netted goals for the Matrix. Spencer Toole and Angus Beaton assisted.
Michael Normore-Wells and Alex Rowe were credited with the Kings’ goals.
Tyler Rogers picked up the goaltending decision.
Cougars 7 Express 0
The Cougars jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one period, and extended that margin to 8-0 at the end of two.
Ryan MacMullin (3-1), Khoner White (1-1), Kyle Rudderham (1-1), Logan O’Neill (1-1), Riley Seymour, Brandon Clarke, James Jobes and Alex Christmas scored for the Cougars.
