SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Alex Trembley scored at 3:24 of overtime to lift the Northern Moose to a 2-1 victory over the Charlottetown Bulk Carriers Knights on Friday night.
The New Brunswick/P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League game was played at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre in Bathurst, N.B.
Gabe Hartlen, who was set by Max Chisholm and Simon Hughes, scored a power-play goal for the Knights with 1:09 remaining in the third period to send the game to the extra period.
Olivier Nadeau’s goal early in the second period opened the scoring for Northern, which improved to 3-1-1 (won-lost-overtime losses).
Winning goaltender Samuel Landry blocked 22 of 23 shots. Jack Howatt made 29 saves on 31 shots for the Knights (2-3-2).
Charlottetown returns to action on Sunday as the Saint John Vitos (1-6-0) visit MacLauchlan Arena for a 1:45 p.m. start.
Also Sunday afternoon, Northern hosts the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild. The Wild took a 4-1-1 record into Saturday night’s home game versus the Moncton Flyers (5-1-0),
