TOSH, Westisle win KISH friendship hockey tournament

Two new champions crowned this year

A very touching moment took place following the girls’ championship game of the Kensington Intermediate-Senior High School invitational high school hockey tournament at Credit Union Centre in Kensington, formerly Community Gardens, on Saturday afternoon. The Three Oaks Axewomen and KISHORA, a combined team of Kensington Intermediate-Senior High and Kinkora Regional High School, gathered at centre ice, stood with arms around each other and observed a moment of silence and prayer for the victims of the Humboldt Broncos bus crash in Saskatchewan on April 6. It was noted the two teams were wearing the Broncos’ team colours – green (KISHORA) and yellow (Three Oaks). The Axewomen had just defeated KISHORA 3-0 in the final.
