HALIFAX, N.S. – Rachel Colle scored the winner with 3:24 left in the first period to pace the UPEI Panthers to a 2-1 victory over the Dalhousie Tigers Friday in Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey action.

It was the Panthers fourth straight victory to push their record to 7-4-1 while the Tigers are 4-8-2.

Kaylee Dufresne had scored an unassisted shorthanded goal 1:29 before Colle’s marker. Katelynn Nice and Sophie Vandale had the assist on the winner.

Annika Rose from Kennedy Whelan and Abigail Shearer replied with a second period goal for the host Tigers.

Camille Scherger made 16 saves for the win while Fabiana Petricca stopped 30 shots in the loss.

UPEI was 1-for-4 on the power play and killed all three of the Tigers chances.

The Panthers host St. FX (8-3-2) today at 2 p.m. in Montague.
