SAINT JOHN, N.B. – Two Prince Edward Islanders recorded points in a Quebec Major Junior Hockey League game on Thursday night.

Saint John Sea Dogs’ rookie defenceman Charlie DesRoches of Days Corner scored his first regular-season goal, and was named the first star in a 2-1 overtime loss to the Gatineau Olympiques before 2,564 fans at Harbour Station.

Olympiques defenceman Chris McQuaid of Charlottetown set up Maxim Trépanier’s game-winning goal at 2:31 of the extra period.
DesRoches’s goal tied the game 1-1 at 11:11 of the second period. It was also his first regular-season career point.
