CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – It appears the Charlottetown Islanders have traded their captain, Pierre-Olivier (P.O.) Joseph, to the Drummondville Voltigeurs.

Word of the deal started circulating on social medial just before 9 p.m. Atlantic Sunday. TVA’s Mikael Lalancette was the first to report the deal.

The Islanders appear to be getting 18-year-old blue-liner Xavier Bernard and some top draft picks in return. Islanders officials wouldn’t confirm the move.

Joseph, a six-foot-two, 168-pound, left-shot defenceman from Chambly, Que., has seven goals and 18 assists for 25 points in 27 games this season.
