POWNAL, P.E.I. – Michael Gallant had a goal and an assist Monday to pace the Pownal Taco Boyz Red Devils to a 3-2 victory over the Kings County Kings in Prince Edward Island Midget AAA Hockey League action.
Cole McKeigan scored the game-winning goal with 3:06 left in the third period at the Pownal Sports Centre. Aidan Arsenault also scored in the victory. Will MacDougall had two assists while singles went to Jack Triantafflou and Sam Valois.
Gabe Hartlen and Cam White scored for the Kings with assists going to Ben MacIsaac, Jack King and Riley Jamieson.
Caleb Drake earned the win while Nicolas Jamieson took the loss.
The Red Devils held 1-0 and 2-0 period leads. Kings County was unable to capitalize on five power plays while Pownal was 0-for-3.
Pownal improved to 5-12-3 while Kings County is 15-5-3.
