MONCTON, N.B. – Cameron Whynot had four assists to pace Nova Scotia’s Valley Wildcats to a 5-2 victory over the Charlottetown Bulk Carriers Pride Thursday on the opening day of the Monctonian Challenge.

After a scoreless first period, Valley tallied three times in the second period to take a 3-0 advantage to the third.

Noah Griffin and Cameron MacLean scored for Charlottetown. Jake Squires had two assists while Declan MacEachern and captain Nick Reeves each added one.

Dylan Schofield had two goals for Valley while Cameron Whynot had four helpers.

Grant Sanford earned the win while Jonah Arbing took the loss.

The Pride returns to the ice Friday at 10:30 a.m. to play College du Mont-Saint-Anne.
