Bianca Canade’s goal 37 seconds into the second period stood up as the winner Friday as the Dalhousie Tigers defeated the UPEI Panthers 1-0 in Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey action.

Danika Philips and Lauren Ellerton had the assists for the Tigers at the Halifax Forum.

The loss prevented the Panthers from clinching a playoff berth.

Fabiana Petricca made 32 stops for the shutout while Camille Scherger stopped 21 shots in the loss.

UPEI was 0-for-1 on the power play while killing all six of Dalhousie’s chances.
