Panthers lose in overtime to Moncton in AUS women's hockey

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Brittany Poitras scored a power-play goal in overtime Saturday to lead Moncton to a 2-1 win against the UPEI Panthers in Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey action.

Katryne Villeneuve scored for Moncton in regulation while Jenna Pellerin from Leah Byrne replied for UPEI.

Gabrielle Forget made 20 saves for the win while Megan Sullivan stopped 23 shots in the loss.

The Panthers led 1-0 after the first period and the game was tied 1-1 heading to the third period. Moncton was 1-for-7 on the power play while UPEI was 0-for-5.

Moncton improved to 5-3-1 while UPEI is 2-4-4.
