UNIONDALE, N.Y. – Noah Dobson of Summerside is returning to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).

The New York Islanders assigned the 18-year-old defenceman to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Monday.
Dobson, the 12th overall pick in the 2018 National Hockey League Entry Draft, recorded one assist and two penalty minutes in two pre-season games with the Islanders.
This will be Dobson’s third season in the QMJHL, and he returns to a rebuilding Titan team that won the 2017-18 QMJHL President Cup and Memorial Cup.

Dobson had 26 points, including seven goals, in 63 regular-season games in his rookie 2016-17 season with the Titan, and registered 69 points – 17 goals and 52 assists – in 67 contests in his sophomore year.
The son of Andrew and Jenny Dobson is also expected to receive serious consideration for a roster spot on Team Canada’s entry at the world junior hockey championship that begins in British Columbia on Boxing Day.
