CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The Mid-Isle Matrix broke open a tied game with three, third-period goals and notched a 5-2 win over the Sherwood Drug Mart Central Attack Thursday in P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League action.

In the third, Central had evened the contest 2-2 on goals from Josh Lund and Caden Kelly (1-1) but lost the edge when Mid-Isle’s David Sato (1-1), Kyler Weeks and Matthew Mills (1-2) each scored during the final seven minutes at Cody Banks Arena.

Sam Bailey and Carson MacKay netted the other Matrix markers, while Landon Hardy chipped in two assists.

Emmett Lyons added two helpers for the Attack.

Matt Jelley earned the win over Keegan Duffy.

Central was 2-for-6 on the power play, while Mid-Isle went 1-for-6 with the extra man.

The game was scoreless after the first period. Mid-Isle led 2-0 at the second intermission.
