CHARLOTTETOWN – The Sherwood-Parkdale Metros will face the Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League championship series.

The Metros trimmed the Summerside Cover-All Construction Crunch 9-2 on Monday night to sweep the best-of-five semifinal series. The Aces also won their semifinal game in three straight games against the Southside Lynx.
The league champion will join the host Lynx in the Maritime Hockey North junior C championship tournament at the South Shore Actiplex in Crapaud from April 4 to 8.
At the Cody Banks Arena, the Metros built period leads of 2-0 and 6-1.

Shawn Corney scored four goals and added an assist for five points to lead the Metros offensively. Derian Vessey (2), Marc Cummiskey (1-2), Owen Arsenault (1-1) and Ridge Crane also scored. Jake Arsenault (3), Logan Toole (2) and Hunter Boudreau (2) contributed multiple assists.
Marc-Andre Gallant and Tanner Jamieson replied for the Crunch, who enjoyed a strong second season in the league that included winning the franchise’s first-ever playoff series against North River in the quarter-finals. Tristan Gallant, Matt MacKinnon and James Birt collected assists.
Winning goaltender was James Duffy.
