CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — It took two periods, but the A&S Scrap Metal Metros scored five times in the third and motored to a 6-4 in over the Eastern Maniacs in recent Island Junior Hockey League action at Cody Banks Arena.
Down 4-1 after two, the Metros’ Connor Gray (1-1), Taylor Runighan, Nick Currie, Colin Koughan and Cody MacPhee (1-2) lit the red lamp over the next 17 minutes, reclaimed the lead and salted away the win.
Tanner Lund (1-3) netted the other Metros score. Zach Ladner and Dylan MacDonald each chipped in two assists.
Zach Kennific, Andrew Campbell, Tyson McInnis and Blake Jamieson had the Maniacs goals.
The Metros outshot Eastern 42-34 and the teams combined to go 2-for-8 on the power play.
Ben Parent earned the goaltending win over Cam Duffy.
