CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Nick Brown was in a giving mood Monday night.
He set up five goals as the host Sherwood Metros thumped the Tignish Aces 10-0 in Razzy’s Junior C Hockey League action.
Marc Cummiskey had a hat trick and an assist while Shawn Corney had two goals and two assists. Will Levasseur and Michael Jenkins both added a pair of goals while Jake Lafferty rounded out the scoring.
Alex MacEachern and Ethan Larocque each had two assists while singles went to Levasseur, Rory Walton, Logan Toole, Brian Leslie and Jonathan Gormley.
Summer Docherty made 39 saves for the shutout while Koby Bridges allowed six goals on 49 shots in 40 minutes of action and Colin Gaudette gave up four goals on 13 shots in relief.
The Metros held 3-0 and 6-0 period leads. Sherwood went 1-for-9 on the power play while Tignish was 0-for-6.
Sherwood improved to 9-1-0 while second-place Tignish is 6-4-0.
