CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Derian Johnson had the shootout winner as the first-place Sherwood Metros defeated the North River Flames 5-4 in a shootout Monday in Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League action.
Shawn Corney had three assists to pace the Metros attack while Nick Brown had a goal and an assist at Cody Banks Arena. Alex MacEachern, Marc Cummiskey and Michael Jenkins also scored. Patrick Kenny added an assist.

Alex Young and Matt Lank each had a goal and an assist for the Flames while Tanner Power and Kurtis Green also scored. Connor Gauthier and Cody Jay each had an assist.

Sumner Docherty made 46 saves for the win while Connor Chapman stopped 40 shots for the Flames.

North River led 1-0 in the first period, while Sherwood took a 3-2 lead to the third. The Flames were 1-for-3 on the power play while the Metros were 1-for-4.
Sherwood improved to 14-2-0 while North River is 4-9-3.
