Two Prince Edward Islanders scored important goals for their respective teams in the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) on Friday night.
Hunter McIntyre of Kilmuir scored to break a 3-3 tie at 6:01 of the third period, and that goal proved to be the game-winner as the Amherst Ramblers went on to double the host Yarmouth Mariners. McIntyre, who was acquired in a pre-season trade with the Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals, has four goals and four assists for eight eights in 27 regular season games.
In Campbellton, N.B., Coleton Perry of North Bedeque scored an insurance goal with 1:30 remaining in regulation time to secure a 3-1 win for the Campbellton Tigers over the Miramichi Timberwolves.
It was Perry’s 13th goal of the season and his 22nd point in 34 regular-season games.
