POWNAL, P.E.I. – Landon Hardy’s shorthanded goal with 3:29 left in the second period was the equalizer as the Robin’s Mid-Isle Matrix tied the Pownal Taco Boyz Red Devils 3-3 Monday in P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League.
Colin Goodwin and Reese Wyand also scored for the Matrix while Aaron McCloskey, Lucas Buch and Matthew Mills had helpers at the Pownal Sports Centre.
Michael Gallant had a goal and an assist for the host squad while Cole McKeigan and Adam Richards also scored. Jack Triantafflou, Will MacDougall, Lance Kennedy, Thomas Docherty and Carson Lund each had an assist.
Matt Jelley played goal for the Matrix while Logan Birt was in the crease for the Red Devils.
Mid-Isle led 2-1 after the first period while the game was tied 3-3 heading to the third. Pownal was 1-for-4 on the power play and killed all eight of Mid-Isle’s chances with the man advantage.
Mid-Isle is 3-3-2 while Pownal is 2-4-1.
