KENSINGTON – Four different players dented the twine for the Robin’s Mid-Isle Matrix in a 4-2 victory over the Summerside Capitals at Community Gardens on Tuesday night.
Lucas Buch, Duncan Picketts, Zac MacKay and Kayden MacLeod scored for the first-place Matrix, who improved to 20-4-3 (won-lost-tied) in the P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League. Kyler Weeks (2), David Sato, Colin Goodwin, Nick Trainor, Zach Wilson and Nathan Mahar chipped in with assists.
Parker Gallant and Parker Cameron countered for the Capitals (5-20-0). Helpers were credited to Blake Gallant (2), Stephen Smallwood and Kennedy Gallant.
The Capitals led 1-0 after the first period, and the Matrix took a 2-1 advantage into the second intermission.
Winning goaltender was Matt Jelley. Devin Newberry tended goal for Summerside.
