WPSHL season underway
ABRAM-VILLAGE – The O’Leary Maroons prevailed in a high-scoring affair as the 2018-19 West Prince Senior Hockey League regular season opened on Saturday night.
The Maroons, led by a four-goal performance by Mike MacIsaac and a hat-trick performance from Nick Reilly, outlasted the Wellington Arsenault Bros. Flyers 11-8 at the Evangeline Recreation Centre.
Darcy Tuplin (2), Mike Adams and Jeff MacIsaac also scored for the Maroons.
Colton Gallant (3), Owen Arsenault, Deran Arsenault, Jake Arsenault, Matt Kelly and Justin Arsenault found the back of the net for the Flyers.
Wellington jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the opening period, but the teams were tied 6-6 at the end of 40 minutes.
