“Before the year started I felt I wasn’t very consistent,” said the 15-year-old son of Adam and Lindsay MacArthur of Summerside. “I really wanted to work on that, and I felt I did a good job working that into my game.”

The numbers certainly indicate it’s mission accomplished for MacArthur, who was named the most valuable player of the P.E.I. Irving Oil Bantam AAA Hockey League’s regular season on Sunday night.

The Prince County Warriors left-winger was the runaway winner of the league’s regular-season scoring title with 71 points – 41 goals and 30 assists – in 30 regular-season games. MacArthur was also named the top forward and a league all-star.

“I wasn’t expecting the MVP award,” admitted MacArthur. “I believed (Eastern Express goaltender) Erik MacInnis was going to get that.”
