CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Ethan Larocque scored his second of the night three minutes into overtime Monday as the Sherwood Metros defeated the Summerside Cover All Construction Crunch 7-6 in the opening game of the Razzy’s Prince Edward Island Junior C Hockey League playoffs.

Game 2 of the best-of-seven semifinal goes Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Slemon Park. The North River Flames and the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces start their semifinal tonight at 8:20 p.m. in Tignish.

Logan Toole had a goal and four assists to lead the Metros Monday at Cody Banks Arena while Marc Cummiskey had two goals and an assist. Shawn Corney and Michael Jenkins also scored in the victory. Hunter Boudreau, Daniel Collister, Brad Jenkins and Corney each had an assist.

Marc-Andre Gallant led Summerside with a goal and two assists while Brandon Hastings scored twice. Dexter Harper, Remi Arsenault and Ryan May also found the back of the net while assists went to Tristan Gallant and Harper.

Sumner Docherty made 32 saves for the victory while Jaxon Lamont stopped 36 shots in the loss.

Sherwood held 3-0 and 4-3 period leads. The Crunch went 3-for-6 on the power play while the Metros were 3-for-9.
