TIGNISH – The Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces posted a huge win in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League on Friday night.

The second-place Aces defeated the Sherwood-Parkdale Metros 8-3 at the Tignish Credit Union Arena. The win moved the Aces, who are 16-5-0 (won-lost-overtime losses), to within two points of the league-leading Metros (17-3-0), who visit the North River Flames (7-12-2) at the APM Centre in Cornwall on Saturday at 7:50 p.m.
Curklan Fraser had two goals and three assists for five points to lead the Aces, and Brayden Arsenault contributed four points – two goals and two helpers. Dawson Sellick (1-1), Tyson Beckingham (1-1), Will Tuplin and Lexin Gaudet also scored for Tignish. Ryan Campbell (2), Alex McRae, Cameron Gillis and Colton Chaisson chipped in with assists.
Derian Johnson, Michael Jenkins and Jonathan Gormley countered for the Metros. Patrick Kenny (2), Alex MacEachern (2), Daniel Collister and Ethan Larocque set up the goals.
The Aces built a 5-1 lead after the opening period, and led 6-3 after 40 minutes.
Winning goaltender McGuire Gallant turned in a 24-save performance.
