BOISBRIAND, Que. — Brendan Cregan stopped 39 shots Saturday to pace the host Blainville-Boisbriand Armada to a 4-1 victory over the Charlottetown Islanders in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

The 21-year-old Hammonds Plains, N.S., native stopped 43 shots a week earlier against the Islanders in Charlottetown.

Special teams were also key to the Armada’s home win, going 3-for-6 on the power play and killing all five of the Islanders chances with the man advantage.

Antoine Demers, Miguel Tourigny, Luke Henman and Benjamin Corbeil scored in the victory while assists went to Simon Pinard, Blake Richardson, Tyler Hylland and Samuel Bolduc.

Colin Van Den Hurk from Drew Johnston and Lukas Cormier scored the Isles goal. Matthew Welsh made 27 saves in the loss.

The Armada held 1-0 and 3-1 period leads. Blainville-Boisbriand improved to 23-37-2-0 while Charlottetown is 34-20-4-3.

The Islanders end the three-game road trip today in Gatineau with a 5 p.m. Atlantic game against the Olympiques (22-34-3-2). The Islanders return home this week to host the Val-d’Or Foreurs Wednesday at 7 p.m. in a make-up game from Dec. 2.
