SAINT JOHN, N.B. — Filip Prikryl scored 3:14 into overtime as the Charlottetown Islanders coughed up a late lead to lose 6-5 Saturday to the Saint John Sea Dogs.
The Islanders led 5-3 with four minutes to play in Saint John, N.B., but Nicholas Deakin-Poot scored his second and third of the night to tie the game and force overtime. Charlottetown is 0-3-1-0 in its last four games.
Jeremie Poirier had a goal and two assists in the win while Maxim Cajkovic and Prikryl each had a goal and a helper. Josh Lawrence and Benjamin Gagne had two assists while Michael Campoli and Jeremie Jacob each added one.
Hunter Drew had two goals and an assist for Charlottetown while Thomas Casey had a goal and a helper. Liam Peyton and Jordan Maher had the other goals for the visitors.
Brendon Clavelle and Kevin Gursoy each had two assists while Daniel Hardie, Will Sirman, Nikita Alexandrov and Lukas Cormier all collected one.
Zachary Bouthillier made 35 stops for the victory while Isaak Pelletier allowed six goals on 25 shots.
Saint John led 2-1 after the first period but trailed 4-3 heading to the third.
The Sea Dogs improved to 12-36-2-2 while the Islanders are 29-17-3-3. The teams play Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Charlottetown.
