Spence assists on
game-winning goal
SPRINGHILL, N.S. –
Jordan Spence of Cornwall assisted on the game-winning goal for the Moncton Wildcats on Friday night.
Spence and Tristan DeJong set up Brady Pataki’s power-play goal at 16:35 of the second period gave the Wildcats a 2-0 lead over the Halifax Mooseheads. Moncton went on to win the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League pre-season game.
Spence played with the Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals of the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) last season.

Caseley makes
18 saves for Mariners
BRIDGEWATER, N.S. –
Tyler Caseley stopped 18 of 21 shots for the Yarmouth Mariners on Friday night.
Caseley played the first of the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) pre-season game against the South Shore Lumberjacks.
The Lumberjacks won the game 7-4.

Kelly-Murphy scores
SO winner for Tigers
BELLEDUNE, N.B. –
Defenceman Logan Kelly-Murphy’s shootout goal lifted the Campbellton Tigers to a 5-4 win over the Miramichi Timberwolves in MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) pre-season action on Saturday night.
Kelly-Murphy, who played last season with the Charlottetown Bulk Carriers Pride of the New Brunswick/P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League, broke a 1-1 tie in the shootout on the Tigers’ third attempt.
Kennedy Gallant, who was Kelly-Murphy’s teammate last season, was one of the shooters in the shootout for the Timberwolves.
