CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Former Charlottetown Islanders defenceman Ryan Graves was traded on Monday.
The New York Rangers, who selected the Yarmouth, N.S., native in the fourth round of the 2013 draft, dealt him to the Colorado Avalanche for defenceman Chris Bigras.

Graves, 22, played two seasons for the P.E.I. Rocket and half a season in the first year of the Charlottetown Islanders before being traded to the Val-d’Or Foreurs in January 2014. He finished his major junior career with the Quebec Remparts.
He has four goals and seven assists for 11 points in 57 games this season with the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack. Bigras, 23, was taken 32nd overall in the 2013 draft. He had a goal and five assists in 20 games this season with the AHL’s San Antonio Rampage.
