BATHURST, N.B. — Hunter Drew scored a goal and picked up an assist to help lead the Charlottetown Islanders over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan 4-1 Friday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

It was a nice bounce back game after the Islanders were drubbed at home 8-2 by Halifax on Thursday. The Islanders outshot the Titan 49-23.

Drew scored his second goal of the season at 3:30 of the third period and also assisted on the game-winning goal.

That goal was scored by William Sirwan, his first goal as an Islander, at the 10:14 mark of the first period.

Liam Peyton got things going with his second goal of the season at 7:39 of the first period. Zachary Beauregard and Sullivan Sparkes picked up the assists.

Sirwan made it 2-0 Islanders and it stayed that way until Drew made it 3-0 Charlottetown three minutes into the third period. Derek Gentile and Nikita Alexandrov picked up the assists.

The Titan would finally crack the scoresheet when Evan MacKinnon beat Islanders goaltender Matthew Welsh at 12:34 of the third period with a power-play goal. P.E.I.’s Noah Dobson picked up the lone assist.

Daniel Hardie would score his fourth goal of the campaign, into an empty net, at 17:08 of the third period to complete the scoring.

Welsh made 22 saves to pick up the win for the Islanders, who improve to 4-5-1-0, on the season while former Charlottetown netminder Mark Grametbauer made 45 saves in the loss.

The Islanders host Saint John on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Eastlink Centre.
