Caseley named first star in Mariners’ win

NEW GLASGOW, N.S. – Yarmouth Mariners goaltender Tyler Caseley of Kensington contributed at both ends of the rink Thursday night.

 

Caseley blocked 31 of 33 shots while also collecting an assist as he earned first-star honours in the Mariners’ 5-2 road win. Caseley’s busiest period was the second, when he turned away 15 of 16 shots.
Caseley entered Friday’s play with an 8-2-0 (won-lost-overtime losses) record, a 2.06 goals-against average and a league-leading .934 save percentage in his rookie season in the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League). He has allowed two or fewer goals in eight of those 10 games.
