CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Nick Bowman scored the Sherwood Drug Mart Central Attack’s first and second goals to lead the squad to a 6-1 playoff series-clinching win over the Pownal Taco Boyz Red Devils Thursday at Cody Banks Arena.

Central, the fifth seed, won the best-of-three quarter-final 2-0 over the fourth-seeded Red Devils. They face the top-seeded Western Regals in the P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League semifinal.

Game 1 is Wednesday at 8:10 p.m. in Alberton.

John MacKinnon (1-2), Caden Kelly, Luke Dillon and Matthew Dunn had the other Central markers on Thursday. Justin Richard, Isaac McCabe and Noah Dow each chipped in two assists.

Larkin Kennedy netted the Red Devils and the game’s lone power-play goal.

Keegan Duffy earned the win over Caleb Drake. Central held 1-0 and 3-1 period leads.

Game 1 in the Kings County Kings-Mid-Isle Matrix semifinal goes Monday, at 6:40 p.m., in Souris.
