A 30-year-old man found in medical distress in a home in the northwestern B.C. community of Houston has died and his death is being investigated as a homicide.

According to the RCMP, the man was found in the home on Pearson Road around 4:30 a.m. Thursday with what the police say were “significant” injuries. Paramedics treated him at the scene but they were unable to save him.

The North District Major Crime Unit and the B.C. Coroners Service are investigating. Citing privacy concerns, the police say they are not releasing the man’s name.

The police say they believe the general public is not at risk.

Anyone with any additional information is asked to contact the Houston RCMP at 250-845-2204.
