Back-to-back shutouts earn Scherger weekly award

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Camille Scherger of the UPEI women’s hockey team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport (AUS) female athlete of the week for the week ending Oct. 6.
A third-year goaltender from Lloydminster, Alta., Scherger opened the AUS regular season with two shutouts this past weekend versus the UNB Reds and the Mount Allison Mounties.
Scherger was named the Subway player of the game after making 28 saves in a 2-0 win over UNB on Friday night. She followed that performance up with a 14-save performance Saturday over the Mount Allison Mounties, backstopping UPEI to a 6-0 win.
Scherger is studying in the science program.
